June 29, 2026: Representatives from Hongjing Technology, Minova Tech Group, Xingmei Group and Qingda Electronics visited ZTE Corporation for a special seminar on the feasibility of cooperation in data center construction across Southeast Asia, with a focus on Indonesia and Thailand. The participants jointly assessed opportunities for overseas computing power market development, constraints for project implementation, and long-term cooperation frameworks.
During the seminar, all parties systematically reviewed the computing power industry and geopolitical business environment across Southeast Asian nations, and reached a consensus that Thailand and Indonesia are the core target investment markets. Thailand features supportive policies, an inclusive society, and dedicated incentive frameworks for the digital economy. Indonesia boasts notable advantages in electricity costs, alongside stable social conditions in certain Chinese communities, creating differentiated investment value. Other Southeast Asian countries face constraints including power supply limitations, geopolitical risks and regulatory uncertainties, and will not be prioritized for near-term deployment.
The participating enterprises agreed that reliable power supply constitutes the primary bottleneck for data center projects. Stable energy sources such as hydropower, photovoltaic power and energy storage systems must be secured as a priority for successful project rollout. Additionally, the scarcity of NVIDIA NCP licences creates a key market entry barrier for high-end computing infrastructure, requiring collaboration with local licensed entities to establish compliant supply chain channels. Leading internet firms including ByteDance, Alibaba and Tencent have seen surging demand for computing resources in Southeast Asia, while modular prefabricated data center solutions can drastically shorten construction cycles.
ZTE outlined its core competitive strengths: over two decades of local operations in Thailand, a resident local operations and maintenance team, established partnerships with major internet clients, and end-to-end general contracting services for mechanical and electrical works across the full lifecycle of computing infrastructure projects. ZTE also confirmed that overseas projects will adopt an order-driven, phased development model to mitigate risks associated with unguided heavy-asset expansion.
A follow-up implementation roadmap was also agreed upon. A joint task force will conduct field studies in Thailand and Indonesia to refine site selection, power infrastructure arrangements, and licensing cooperation frameworks. Technical assessments for the commercial deployment of naked-eye 3D technology will also be carried out in parallel.
This exchange has established a key communication platform for cross-border collaboration on Southeast Asian computing infrastructure. Going forward, Hongjing Technology, Minova Tech Group, Xingmei Group and Qingda Electronics will deepen coordination with ZTE, capture growth opportunities from Southeast Asia’s digital economy boom, accelerate the delivery of overseas data center projects, and pursue shared development of a global computing power ecosystem.
